us immigration Come live and work in the USA A lot has changed in Israeli cinema over the past 20 years. If any proof of this were needed, we now have "Turn Left at the End of the World" ("Sof Ha'olam Smola"), the first film directed in Israel by Avi Nesher since 1984's "Rage and Glory" ("Za'am Ve'tehila"). Apart from its other failings, "Turn Left at the End of the World" is also a very old-fashioned movie. In its form, its style, its plot structure, the way the actors have been directed, and especially in the way it deals with the historical, social and cultural issues it raises, it is reminiscent of Israeli films from the 1970s and even earlier. © Copyright Haaretz.
